18th Century Experience
The Wall Paintings Workshop has conserved a number of early 18th century wall painting schemes including that by William Kent at Kensington Palace.
The 18th century provides us with some of our finest mural schemes, stately homes decorated with grand staircases and ceilings painted with depictions of the Gods. These schemes are by some of the best-known artists of the era, William Kent, Louis Laguerre, Antonio Verrio and Gerrard Lanscroon among them. Restoration of the murals at Reigate Priory has brought the paintings to life and resulted in a re-attribution of the scheme.
